Bio
Dr. Garcia grew up in South Texas. She attended The University of Texas in Austin. She received a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy prior to enrolling in medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. She then completed her general surgery residency at UT Southwestern/Parkland Hospital in Dallas,Texas, which included a two year research fellowship. Her pediatric surgery fellowship was completed at Los Angeles Children's Hospital in Los Angeles California.
Prior to moving to Austin, Dr. Garcia was the Associate Director of Trauma at Dallas Children's Hospital and practiced as a pediatric surgeon in Dallas from 1998 to 2010. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Pediatric Surgery.
Dr. Garcia is the Trauma Medical Director at Dell Children's Medical Center.
